The programming group is responsible for making sure our robot runs smoothly each year during competition. Throughout the year they can be found working with a test chassis in the shop designing programs and improving current programs to run more smoothly. Students join the programming group each year with limited or no knowledge of C++ and are taught by the elder members of the team. The programming teams meets at least once a week throughout the year.
For the first time this year our programming group competed in the Zero Robotics Competition. This competition was a programming challenge that required our programming group to write code for a robot that would be competing in Zero Gravity. The robot had to orbit 'asteroids' and make them spin; the points earned by each team was based upon the robots abilities to complete these tasks.
